Gunmen Kill 18 in Niger, Kidnap Bauchi ResidentsGunmen have reportedly killed 18 worshippers at Maza-Kuka in Mashegu Local Council of Niger State. The armed men, in the early hours of yesterday, The Guardian gathered, invaded the village in large numbers and attacked the villagers, who were performing their early morning prayers. It was learned that the gunmen, who came on motorcycles, went straight into the Mosque and shot sporadically resulting in the death of worshippers. Herdsmen Kill 3 as Plateau Community Marks Killing of 29 Persons No fewer than three persons were reportedly ambushed and killed on Friday morning when the Irigwe Youth Movement and Rural Watch News organised a memorial programme in commemoration of the killing of 29 persons by herdsmen in a classroom at Nkiendoro, Miango District of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Obi said the Federal Government should first declare a State of emergency in Nigeria before taking such a step in Anambra State. Malami had said the Federal Government was considering the move, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State due the level of insecurity. However, Obi said Nigeria is facing more security challenges than Anambra State…….…READ MORE Gunmen Attack Enugu Police Station, Cart Away Weapons A policewoman has been declared missing after gunmen attacked Umulokpa Police Division in the Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu State. The state police command confirmed Monday that a yet-to-be-identified female officer has been unaccounted for following the attack that took place on Saturday, 9th October 2021. The armory of the division was emptied while the CCTV facility and operational vehicles were also destroyed in the incident. Pandora Papers investigation — involving some 600 journalists from media including The Washington Post, the BBC, The Guardian, and Nigeria’s Premium Times — is based on the leak of some 11.9 million documents from 14 financial services companies around the world.
