Rev. Dr. Benjamin Kwashi

The Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi is Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Jos and Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Jos in the Church of Nigeria. Archbishop Kwashi is also the General Secretary of Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans (Gafcon) since 2019. He became the third bishop of the newly created Anglican Diocese of Jos in 1992, and in 2008, he was consecrated Archbishop of Jos Province in the Church of Nigeria. Bishop Kwashi began by following a military career but he felt a religious calling in 1976, and decided to follow a religious life. He was ordained an Anglican priest in 1982. He went to serve in several rural and urban parishes and was also the Rector of a Theological College. In 1987, his church and vicariate were totally burned during Muslim riots.

He is the author of several books such as Evangelism and Mission: Biblical and Strategic Insights for the Church Today. He is married to Gloria and they have six children, one of whom is also a priest. They have 50 orphans living with them in Jos, Northern Nigeria and another 470 at their school.
